Many pregnant women ask, how will the acupuncture treatments make me feel?
At the time of treatment you’ll feel very relaxed and often clients have a snooze. The take home benefits include more energy, better sleep, a calmer nervous system and being more in touch with your baby. We are here to help nourish your body, mind and spirit so you can enjoy your pregnancy.
If you’re experiencing problematic symptoms, you can expect to feel better within two weeks. In fact many of our clients feel better within a week, however it does depend on the situation.
If you’re interested in preparing well for a natural labour, you can expect to feel relaxed after your treatments and in a good mindset for the birth. Whilst is it impossible to guarantee you will have a natural labour - as there are so many factors affecting this outcome - you can rest assured that your chances of this will be greatly improved.
If you have a breech baby, you can expect that you have a 75% chance of your little bundle of joy turning if you come to the clinic before 36 weeks gestation.
As far as a natural induction is concerned, it is best to give yourself as much lead time to your due date as possible to prepare for this treatment. Four weeks is ideal based on a 2006 study conducted my midwife and acupuncturist Debra Betts.

As a parent, you can expect to see improvements in their health from as early as one treatment, however it may take two months of treatment in more chronic cases such as eczema.

:: PREPARING TO CONCEIVE ::
If you have no pre-existing problems you can expect to see results in as little as four months, however it often does take longer, especially if you have been having trouble already. In this case it may take twelve to eighteen months. It’s important where possible that both partners are treated or at the very least, checked out from a Chinese medical perspective. It can be a tough road but we are here to help and support you through your journey in whatever form that takes.

All the Chinese herbal medicine we use are approved by the TGA, Therapeutic Goods Association. We do not use endangered animals and will always give you the choice about using animal products should we deem them to be necessary.
